A black day to remember ….

Yes, really … The day with the date 17/5/2005 was marked as black day by me. This was the day i spent almost whole day, from morning to evening, travelling by city bus. Don’t be such an impatient, this is not the exact reason for above.

Let me eloberate the entire day happenings. This was the day, i thought of applying passport, which i was trying to do from past week days, though i had missed this opportunity before that day because of timing issues with the Passport Office and returned back. Because of that experiance, i woke up early in the morning at 9:00AM it self (supposed to be big surprise to all IIITians who spend late nights) and finished breakfast by 9:30AM. Then i started to Khirathabad Eseva center, which was near to us as suggested by many of my experienced friends, accompanied by my friend Anand who also interested in applying one.

After waiting for half an hour, we got city bus for Mehdipatnam and after another half an hour waiting, we got bus for LakdiKaPool. After reaching LakdiKaPool which is near to Khiratabad, we had a walk for one Kilometer to reach to Eseva center. The real stuggle started when we reached the Eseva center, let see how it was…

We were frustated to see such a big crowds of people waiting there. But we breathed freely when we came to know that RTA office also there in that building and most of the people waiting for that purpose. When we entered the passport counter we saw a small queue and we thought it was very small and probably it might take an half an hour. To our surprise the queue is not the criteria for the order, but the sumbitted filled applications. This also known to us when we enquired our selves about this, not even a single man to guide the actual process. So we got back to waiting hall to fill up forms first.

After filling the applications, we needed gum urgently to paste our photographs in that application. Not even a single shop in the mall presented at that office had the gum, though it is one of the very needy thing at the time of filling applicaitons. So we went out of that office and it was very hot outside as it was afternoon in that hot summer. Facing that, we searched for near by shops, finally we bought a big Fevistik for just a minutes work. We went back to the counter and submitted our applications.

After three hours of boring waiting in that waiting hall, finally we got call from the counter and we were there. The lady at the counter was busy in verifying my documents and application. Suddenly she pointed out that my Residence Ceritificate was inappropirate to my sad. I was almost in the dead state by the time we reached the counter facing all these anti-situations. I enquired for the reason that she replied was that the collage joining date was not mentioned in the Residence Certificate. For a moment, I got very angry with the guy who makes this cerificate in our Institute and thought that it was minimum common sense to mention a joining date in Residence certificates, how that guy forgot about that inspite of his only work it was.

We retraced our path to Institute and explained the mistake to the office people who assured me of providing another updated cerificate with in an half an hour which almost a miracle in the history of IIIT office. As it was 3:00PM in the afternoon, we first had a small lunch and after that went to Eseva office again after changing two city buses with the certificates i collected just before. By the time, when i reached the office, the lady who verified my documents was about leave. I requested her to accept my application, but she was very perfect to her timing as it was already crossed the 4:00PM which was the closing time.

With all these, we again started for Institute from there by having some fruit salad in the gap between the buses to regain the lost energy so far. And finally it became 8:30PM when we returned to our Institute with that futile work. When we reached the Institute, we almost like a dead skeletons which hangs to which ever way it follows. So, we decided to go to hostel to go to bed directly as the only thing we were capable of doing at that momemt.

This is all about that perticular black day i am talking about and thatz way we (my friend Anand and i) decided to remember that day for ever to remember the heat, pain and torcher we faced. After having such a big adventure to apply for a passport, i had a very nice experiance and applied next day with in 3 hours of time which almost a record for me as i spent whole day even then i didn’t finished that earlier.

U know, I am sure such days will come to everyone …. let see when ur day will come :)) [Every dog has itz own day :-D].
